This is a huge success for the communities of Wheaton, Kensington and Silver Spring who organized to keep the Costco 16-bay gas station out of the mall. While canvassing all these neighborhoods I found overwhelming resident support for Costco itself, but nearly as overwhelming opposition to another gas station for the locality. This past weekend I crossed another milestone in my campaign for state delegate. I have now walked through every neighborhood in my district, every precinct, at least once! It has been a pleasure and honor to get to know my neighbors, and I look forward to working with them in the future.
Now for the homestretch!

The kickoff was a success, with 50 people on a hot and humid Saturday morning working to make my election a reality. My thanks go out to my son, Jonathan, and his girlfriend, Ilona, my friend and mentor, Councilmember Trachtenberg and her former Chief of Staff, NOW President, Terry O’Neill, along with current staff members, and all my friends and allies who have volunteered to be a part of this effort. I appreciate you all!
